We had your 6-week picture taken today at Sears in your beautiful white dress Grandma and Latia Kristi bought you. You looked so pretty!

Looking back on the past six weeks, I can say now that they have gone by fast. But I can only say that in retrospect. Making it through the first six weeks was often endlessly long and tiring. It seemed like time was at a standstill. And at times I felt like the day or the week would never end. But through it all I knew to appreciate every moment with you because you are only this little once! And every week you change and get older and bigger and I will never be able to turn back the hands of time.
The two things strangers feel obligated to say to me when we're out is, (1) "It'll get better" and (2) "Are you getting any sleep?" Lets take a moment to address these comments. First: What will get better? By 'better' do you mean 'easier'? And do you mean that its not good now? You can't appreciate something being better until you've been through it and can look back on it, so please, let me discover and decide this for myself. Second: If you've already had a child, you know how the sleep thing goes, its the same for all newborns, so stop asking!
