Life on the water

It wouldn't be a Michigan summer unless we logged another fun day of boating on Lake Huron. We took advantage of the warm weather and sunny blue skies, and even though it was a little windy the lake was calm. Like usual, as soon as we got into the St. Clair River heading up to Lakeside beach, Kayla's eyes got droopy and she fell asleep - but only for 5 minutes. We met up with Lowell, Missy, Kristy, Mitchell and Addison out on the water and tied their boat off to our boat. We let Kayla and Addison play together on the boat, but I think we had more fun then they did. Kayla and Addison aren't too much into sharing right now so we were constantly trying to avoid a tearful scream whenever someone's pretzel or goldfish or sippy cup or book got ripped out of their hands. It was a very fun day with friends out on the water!Kayla's favorite new entertainment on the boat is the horn. Its a button. Its red. And it makes a noise when you push it. Of course its a fun toy! Who wouldn't want to push it over and over and over? I'm just not so sure all the other boats around us think so. Another favorite is the steering wheel. Not so much a problem when we're anchored but it poses a problem when actual steering needs to be done and Kayla doesn't want to let go. She'll be navigating the waters and driving a boat before we know it.After a long day of fresh air, sunshine and playing, she fell asleep on my shoulder. So precious!
