Labor Day Weekend

We are grateful for the opportunity to spend Labor Day weekend with four other couples at our friend Joe and Elizabeth's cottage in Harbor Springs. I can't emphasize enough how beautiful a place it is to relax and take in the fresh air. Two years ago when we did this trip with the same couples there was only one 1-yr old and one on the way. This year there were five kids under three and one on the way. How fun to watch all the kids play with each other! What will the next year bring?! Having so many children on this vacation certainly changed the dynamics of the trip compared to last time but made it fun all the same. We visited a farm where the kids fed the animals (Kayla got the biggest kick out of feeding the pigs and sheep corn), we swam in the pool, went on walks, shopped downtown and ate ice cream, visited a nature center and hiked to Lake Michigan, golfed, and went to the beach on beautiful Sturgeon Bay on Lake Michigan. It was one of the most beautiful beaches we've ever visited in Michigan. We didn't want to leave... Fortunately for us, we squeeze out more vacation time by taking an extra day to visit Kurt and Sarah before heading home. I can't think of a better way to end the summer!
Goodbye summer!
