18 months & the funny face

It seems that in just the past week Kayla's communication skills have really improved. She's finding and using more words to express what she wants and using those words more often. Fortunately, this is starting to replace the screaming and crying. There's still a lot of times where she grabs our finger to lead us to what she wants, but she's learning that we expect her to add words to that too.

Kayla's new favorite thing to do is give butterfly and eskimo kisses. Aaron has been teaching these to her for awhile and now she requests them by saying "eye" and pointing to our eye and saying "nose" and pointing to our nose for an eskimo kiss. We even saw her giving her stuffed bear butterfly kisses last night. It was very sweet to see her imitating and passing that down to her toy.

She's also been hamming it up lately with the creation of her "funny face". I don't know how or where she learned it from, but ask her to do it and this is what you'll get:
