20 months

We're winding up the tail-end of Kayla's 20th month. Its hard to believe that in three months she will be celebrating her 2nd birthday - that will be here before we know it. But just ask Kayla now how old she is and she'll tell you "two"! So when that day finally does come, she'll be ready.

Finally! There's been some warm weather, so for sure we have been out enjoying every possible minute of it! (Okay, so I just realized that it doesn't look very warm in this photo... hats, winter coats, blankets... but anything over 50 is warm right now to us! And the sun was shining, so we were out!) Elmo is Kayla's new obsession. We switched to a larger size diaper recently and these have Elmo on them. Now each and every one of her babies must have an Elmo diaper on them too. There are Elmo diapers everywhere. We play with them. We sleep with them. Sometimes we don't even sleep with the baby, just the diaper. Up until this point she didn't even have an Elmo doll, video or book. She loved Elmo just because of the diaper, so Aaron and I thought she should have an Elmo doll and some Elmo books to go along with her obsession. Well her big red Elmo doll is just second-hat to the real Elmo - her diapers. When she says "Elmo, Elmo, Elmo!" over and over, don't think she's asking for her doll. Just go get a diaper. Kayla LOVES her baby dolls. I would have to say that they are her favorite thing to play with right now. If Aaron and I are watching a movie, she can entertain herself on the couch with us during the entire movie playing with a baby - putting on and taking off a diaper, giving it a bottle and covering it up with a blanket, over and over. She sleeps with a baby every night, it doesn't matter which one, just any one will do. And sometimes she sleeps with more than one. And then of course every doll needs its own diaper and blanket. Sometimes when a blanket isn't handy, a dishtowel will do.

The majority of the time Kayla and Addison have fun playing together and get along really well, but they can have their moments. Melissa took these photos of the girls - its not often that both are in the mood for a hug or kiss at the same time! You gotta take them while you can! They are so cute!
