Early costume party

Today started out as no different than most days. I came home from work and Kayla was dressed in a princess dress-up costume. It's what happened next that was a first. I told Kayla we had to return movies to the library and run to the store to buy our Halloween candy AND THEN she asked if she could wear her princess costume out. You know what? It's almost Halloween, so it's kind of in the spirit of things, so I said yes. Plus, a little girl wearing a Little Mermaid dress in the middle of the day for no reason is kind of cute. Right? Or have I been around a 3 year old too long who likes to dress up too often?

Lucky for us, today just so happened to be the children's Halloween party at the library. Kids were pouring in and out of the library in costumes. What do you know? Kayla wasn't the only child in a costume after all! We didn't intentionally come dressed for a party, but we fit right in anyways. So we marched right up the stairs and right into the room ready for our crafts and snacks as if we had planned for this moment all day. And then, 45 minutes and 1 leaf wreath, 1 pumpkin picture and 1 glow-in-the-dark necklace later, I finally got to return the movies we originally went to the library to do.

And yes, she still went to the store to buy candy in the princess costume too.

Happy Halloween!
