How do you follow up one visit with Santa? With another visit! Today was Kayla's rescheduled preschool Christmas party with a special program for parents. Her party was originally set for Tuesday but a couple of snow days in a row closed all the schools around here. When I regretfully had to tell Kayla that her party was postponted because of the cold, snowy weather she said, "But my party's
inside." Yes Kayla, you do make a good point there. "And plus" she said, "Santa's reindeer like the snow!" Yes, another good point.
The children re-enacted the story of Joseph, Mary and Jesus complete with costumes and sang a few songs. Santa made a visit and all the children had an opportunity to sit on his lap for a photo and Kayla once again told Santa that she wants the 101 Dalmations movie and Barbies. Then that was followed up with a pinata, a large foam bat and three swings each from thirty children; we ended up with more candy than one family needs! Between the two back-to-back Christmas parties, poor Kayla (actually, poor Mommy and Daddy) has been on one big sugar high. We look forward to this final sugar high wearing off... but are enjoying all the festive parties along the way!
