Tonight was Kayla's first dance class. It's a six-week class that teaches tap, jazz and ballet to three and four year old girls. Aaron thought "she won't like dance", but Kayla turns the fireplace hearth into her stage and performs ballerina dances for us, complete with encores, curtains and costume changes. There were two other little girls in her class, two teachers and tonight's class started off with tap. She started off well, following all the moves, participating in the instruction, but then got nervous (or scared?) and was frozen in place for the rest of class. After we left class she said "I was so brave in there" and Aaron said "Good, she'll play soccer then". So I guess Kayla would say that her greatest achievement tonight was... not the dancing... not having fun... not learning new moves... but being brave. Well, you've got to start somewhere! She's already got her outfit picked out for dance class next week - her purple dance costume - so we'll see where that gets us!
