Oh wait, there was a moment during the weekend when Aaron and Kayla ran out to the grocery store and to run errands. When they returned Kayla said, "We did NOT buy you anything. I did NOT hide it behind that plant". (Bag sticking out from behind plant). She is trying so hard to keep her secret! (She does better than her 36 year old Daddy). And today, after they wrapped my gift, Kayla said, "We did NOT wrap your gift. It is NOT under the tree." (Wrapped gift under tree). And then, because trying to keep a fun secret about a gift is just too hard, she said, "We bought you an ornament. I just can't tell you which one. You have to wait until Christmas". Thanks Kayla!

Almost Christmas!
We had a very relaxing weekend, staying close to home. Daddy and Kayla baked, oh something like 7 or 8 different varieties of cookies over the course of 18 hours. There are mounds and mounds of them, more than we could ever eat in a lifetime! Kayla also decided she wanted to write a letter to Santa detailing her wish list and use Cherry as her courier. After she asked Santa for Cinderella dress up clothes including a headband, shoes and a wand, the Smurfs movie (a commercial had just come on for it), and more Polly Pockets and Barbies, she sealed it in an envelope and addressed it to him. We passed it on to Cherry and the next morning Cherry had brought Kayla a letter from Santa, complete with sprinkles inside! The letter has not left her side and tonight her "mail" is keeping her company in bed.

This is adorable! Good thinking on Santa's part with the sprinkles. :) Kurt and I both looked at the top picture and said she looks about 7 years old in that one. Such a big girl! And I bet she had a blast making cookies with Daddy. Wish we were there to enjoy them with you!
