On our last day we visited the Wright Brothers National Park in Kitty Hawk, also an island in the Outer Banks and the birthplace of America's first flight. It ended up being a very neat experience - we saw lots of interesting exhibits, historical photos, hands-on props, and learned a lot about the history of flight - who knew it was so fascinating! One interesting exhibit had a sign that read "From Kitty Hawk to the Moon in 66 Years" - that's pretty amazing when you think about it!

This field, house (right) and monument (left) represent the distance of the first flight - 586 feet.

It was a good trip to the Outer Banks! Thanks for the memories, laughs and friendships!
