Chilly Fest

So never mind the cold or the snow. We braved it, quite naively actually. The sun was out, it was a clear blue sky, the trees were still, it looked warm. This weekend is the big inaugral Chilly Fest downtown with ice sculptures, sled dog demonstrations, hot chili, and snowmobile drag racing along the river. We had nothing else going on, we had connections to get in for free, we thought Kayla would have fun... so why not?! We were blown away - by how cold it actually was and by the intensity of the snowmobile racing. These sleds were racing on ice on a 1/8th of a mile track going 120mph. To say that Kayla loved it is an understatement. After every race she would say "again? vroom vroom" and laugh and throw her hands in the air for more. Needless to say, after 2 hours of 14 degree weather, Aaron and I were frozen but Kayla kept running circles in the snow; this little snow bunny had the time of her life and did not want to leave!

Blue skies easily fool you in the winter. . .sounded like a fun day none-the-less. How is the basement coming?
